MATAR CHOLE!!
Dried peas a good source of fiber and starch, it also provides energy burn while stabilizing blood sugar level. It also lowers the risk of coronary heart disease.
INGREDIENTS:

- dried yellow peas (soaked) - 2 cup
- onion (sliced) - 2 med
- onion paste - 1 med
- tomato - 1 med
- garlic paste - 1 tsp
- chole masala - 2 tsp
- turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- salt
- chilli powder - 1 tsp
- chat masala - 1 tsp
- ginger- 1/2 inch
- hing(asafoetida) - 1 pinch
- oil
- cumin seeds
- green chilli - 2
METHOD:
- heat a pressure cooker and add the soaked yellow peas (without oil)
- add sliced onion, ginger and hing(asafoetida) and add water (as required for gravy)
- cover and cook for 2-3 whistles
- now heat a pan and add little oil
- add cumin seeds and green chilli and let it crackle
- then add onion paste, garlic paste, chole masala, salt,turmeric powder, chilli powder and little chat masala (for tadka)
- pour this hot oil mixture in the cooker with chole and stir it
- serve hot with parartha, puffed rice or beaten rice
