OKRA AND POINTED GOURD GREEN VEGGIE!!

There are many Indian vegetables which are found in every household. Green vegetables like Pointed gourd or Parwal is another commonly prepared in the Indian cuisine. we cook parwal because it is easy to cook, delicious and cheap as well. It has minimal calories and helps lower cholesterol.
Okra is  a popular healthy food due to its high fiber content, vitamin C, and folate content. Okra is also known for being high in antioxidants. okra is also a good source of calcium and potassium.

















INGREDIENTS :

  • Okra- 250 gm
  • pointed gourd- 100 gm
  • onion- 1 med
  • green chilli- 2
  • salt
  • lemon juice-  1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder
  • fenugreek seeds- 1 tsp
  • cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • fennel seeds- 1/2 ts
  • coriander seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • oil( olive oil)- 2 tsp


METHOD :

  • heat a pan and add fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds and coriander seeds 
  • dry roast them and then grind them to make powder
  • heat a kadhai and add olive oil
  • add chopped green chillies
  • cut okra into 2  BIG pc and add to kadhai and saute for 5-6 min
  • now add pointed gourd and saute
  • peel and cut the onion into four big pc
  • now peel the layers and add to the veggie mix
  • saute for sometime and then add salt and turmeric powder
  •  cover the veggie for 5  min
  • now add the roasted masala powder and mix
  • after 2 min turn off the flame and add lemon juice(1/2 tsp)
  • serve hot with paratha, chapati, or plain rice dal
