BLACK CHANNA!!

Commonly know as 'channa' in India, chickpeas are apart of vegetarian diet in India.
Being low in fat, high in dietary fiber and rich in vitamins and minerals, black chickpea is a health benefit to all. It is also a aid in weight loss and lowering cholesterol.


















INGREDIENTS:

  •  soaked black channa - 200 gm
  • onion - 2 med
  • garlic chopped  - 3 cloves
  • ginger chopped - 1/2 inch
  • green chilli - 2
  • salt
  • pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • roasted cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder
  • olive oil
  • fenugreek seed - 1/2 tsp
  • cumin seed - 1/ 2 tsp
  • bay leaf - 1
METHOD:
  • heat a pressure cooker and add olive oil
  • add fenugreek seed and cumin seed and let let it crackle
  • then add green chilli and bay leaf
  • then add garlic and ginger, saute for sometime
  • then add chopped onion and soaked black channa
  • add turmeric powder, cumin powder, pepper powder and salt 
  •  mix well and saute for sometime
  • then add 1/2 cup water and cover it
  • wait for 2-3 whistle
  • then turn off the flame
  • serve hot 
  • eat it like a snack or eat it with rice or puri or chapati
