carrot and green peas PULAO!!
Carrots contain carotenoids and antioxidants, it is good for eyes and hair. It is an perennial vegetable i.e available at all seasons. It is tasy and has many nutritional values so it should be included in our daily diet.
We don't usually think about green peas as an exotic food in terms of nutrient composition- but we should. Because of its sweet taste ans starchy texture, we know that peas must contain some amount of starch and sugar( and they do). And they also contain a unique assortment of healthy protective phytonutrients.

INGREDIENTS:
- rice- 2 cup
- carrot- 2 (chopped in small pieces)
- green peas- 1/2 cup
- green cardamom- 2 pc.
- onion- 1 small
- cloves- 4 pc.
- olive oil- 2 tsp
- butter- 1 cube
- salt
- lemon juice- 1/2 tsp
METHOD:
- heat a cooker and add butter and olive oil together (butter is added for extra flavor and taste)
- now add cove and cardamom
- now add chopped onion and saute till golden brown
- now add salt , peas and carrot and saute for 1 min ( frying for more time can lead to loss of carrot's flavor)
- now add rice and mix it
- later add Luke warm water as required ( pulav will cook faster and the rice will be more soft)
- now add 1/2 tsp lemon juice ( lemon juice helps seperate the rice i.e rice won't stick to eachother)
- now cover it and wait till 1 whistle
- now turn off the flame
- you can serve this hot with raita, chutney, gravy, ketchup...
